Southwark shooting: Innocent woman shot in leg during street brawl
POLICE are hunting for a gunman after a woman was shot in broad daylight in central London.
The 38-year-old woman was shot in the leg in central London
The woman, 38, was shot in the leg outside a barber's shop in Southwark this afternoon.
She was an innocent bystander as two men fought on Rotherhithe New Road.
One was armed with a gun and the other armed with a broom.
She was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Trident Gang Command are investigating.
No arrests have yet been made.
A spokesman said: "Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who either witnessed this incident or has information concerning the identity of the two men involved, particularly the man armed with the gun."
