Fish surgery goes swimmingly
TWO pet goldfish are recovering after almost £500 worth of medical treatment.
Surgeons removed a lump from Nemo
Star had a blind, cancerous eye removed in an operation by vets from Inglis Veterinary Hospital in Dunfermline, Fife.
They also removed a lump from aquarium partner Nemo. The surgery cost the pets’ owner almost £500.
Star joined the Gordon family after being won at the local fair 12 years ago by Abby, now a 21-year-old student in Glasgow. The fish live in her mother Janie Gordon’s home in Dollar, Clackmannanshire.

Mrs Gordon said: “I know it seems like a lot of money to spend on a goldfish but what was the alternative? We have a responsibility to our pets and my daughter would have been distraught had anything happened to the fish.”
Inglis vet Brigitte Lord said: “This is a highly specialist field, and I’m delighted that everything went OK.”
