'He'll never show remorse' Ched Evans' aunt criticises footballer for denying rape
CHED Evans' aunt has slammed the footballer for failing to own up to raping a woman.
Nina Evans, 56, said that the Sheffield United player will "never show remorse" for forcing himself on a drunk teenager.
She told The Sun: "Ched won’t grasp or listen. He won’t admit he’s done wrong. He’ll never show remorse."
Evans has refused to apologise for raping the woman after serving two-and-a-half years in prison for the crime.
Instead, he released a statement insisting the sex was "consensual" and that he had "done nothing wrong".
What about his poor victim? It’s a massive insult to her
Evans' aunt, a counsellor who sometimes works with rape victims, said of his denial: "It cut me like a knife. I hoped he’d come to his senses and say the right thing.
"What about his poor victim? It’s a massive insult to her."
She added: "He deserved to go down because he was found guilty."
Sheffield United have denied offering Evans a new contract after his release from prison, but have also not ruled out the possibility of him playing for them again.
The victim has been repeatedly attacked by trolls on Twitter since the court case, and has been forced to change her name and identity.
