A real catch! Iceland unveil plans for £5 Christmas lobster
LOBSTER lovers will be able to snap up a whole cooked lobster for a bargain price of just £5 this Christmas, according to a new report yesterday.
Supermarket chain Iceland says that the lobster deal will be rolled out from 5th November and it will be the first time the store has offered its customers a whole lobster.
The lobster deal was part of a festive product range that claims to offer the best value turkey dinner in Britain
Trade magazine The Grocer reported that data from analysts Brandview showed that similar products have retailed a £6.66 at Waitrose over the past 12 months, £8.50 at Tesco and between £9 and £12 at Ocado.
The magazine said that the lobster deal was part of a festive product range that claims to offer the " best value turkey dinner in Britain".
Another product in the Iceland Christmas line-up is 'best value' turkey crown that serves up to 12 people for £14.
The retailer also said that a family of eight could buy a full turkey dinner, with starter and pud, for £29.39 or £3.67 a head.
