At 6,000 calories the world's largest xmas dinner is FREE... if you can stomach it
A PUB is offering customers a free Christmas dinner – if they can finish it in under 45 minutes.
But it’s not as easy as it sounds because this is officially the biggest Christmas dinner in the world.
The £35 feast is made up of a whole turkey, 25 roast potatoes, 25 parsnips, 25 stuffing balls, 25 pigs in blankets, 25 carrots, 25 sprouts, 25 pieces of broccoli and cauliflower, a pint of gravy and lashings of cranberry sauce.
The 6,000-calorie meal at the Duck Inn, Redditch, Worcs, will feature in the 2015 Guinness Book Of World Records.
I was in so much pain I had to stop
Pub owner Ashley Gargan, 41, said: “We got a call out of the blue from them wanting to come and assess us to see if our meal could be certified as the largest in the world. I thought it was a prank at first but they came down and checked the place and were happy with it.
“I have tried the challenge myself and I couldn’t finish it. No one has so far but there’s still time.
“They have to take most of it home in a doggy bag.” Chef Simon Tongue, 36, said: “The platter is so heavy. The photos don’t do it justice.”
Customer Tom Belcher, 23, of Moseley, Birmingham, said: “I used to enter eating contests at university and usually did well so I wanted to try this but it was too much. I was in so much pain I had to stop.”
