BBC's Huw Edwards takes social media by storm after 'bizarre' referendum coverage
HUW Edwards was the the talk of Twitter overnight for his hit and miss coverage of the Scottish referendum.
Many viewers of the welshman's overnight reporting accused the presenter of looking 'bored' and 'lost' as the results gradually came through.
The BBC frontman's seeming indifference toward the landmark referendum was a hit across social media and his name was soon trending on Twitter.
Nathan Wong said: "It's already that time of night where Huw Edwards looks like he doesn't have a clue what's going on" while Nic Boardman claimed "I think Huw Edwards needs to go to bed."
Huw Edwards needs a cup of warm milk and his bed already
Twitter user Emma Donohoe wrote: "Former secretary of skate for Stotland. Huw Edwards needs a cup of warm milk and his bed already."
User Nick: El Barbudo commented: "Huw Edwards is becoming a synonym for confused."
Edwards' own rusty maths skills were also caught out after he tripped up over poll margins.
He claimed that a 54 per cent to 46 per cent lead was a 12-point margin, rather than the correct eight points.
However, some users were impressed with Edwards' ability to fill in the slow news gaps, as Louis Suddaby noted: "Huw Edwards say Lets have a look at the tally. It, er, only includes one result so far. A masterclass in time-filling."
Huw Edwards took over the voting night anchor role from the usual David Dimbleby.
