TV weatherman Fred Talbot faces new sex charge
FORMER TV weatherman Fred Talbot will appear in court next month to face a further allegation of indecent assault.
Talbot, 64, who worked on This Morning in the Eighties and Nineties, already faces a trial next year on charges of nine indecent assaults and one serious sexual assault.
The alleged offences relate to five young male students, three aged under 16, and date back to before his television career began in 1984.
He previously worked as a teacher at two boys’ schools over three decades – Altrincham Grammar School for Boys in Cheshire, where he taught biology, and Elgin High in Newcastle.
He is accused of committing the offences between 1968 and 1983.
Now Talbot, from Bowdon, Greater Manchester, faces a further allegation of indecent assault on a sixth alleged victim, aged 16, who was a pupil at Altrincham Grammar in 1982.
Talbot will appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on July 2.
