Pupils' walkout saves classmate banned for shaving head for charity
A MASS walkout by pupils in support of a boy banned from class for having his head shaved for charity led school bosses to do a U-turn.
When Rhys Johnson, 14, pictured, was taught in isolation after flouting the uniform code, up to 250 pupils walked out.
Rhys raised £700 with a friend last weekend when he took part in a Macmillan cancer charity event.
The Milford Haven School pupil wanted to raise cash after his aunt was diagnosed with the disease.
His mother Lucy O’Neill said Rhys would be allowed back in class from Monday.
She said his friend, TesniDoherty-Bowen, a pupil of Tasker Milward VC School, Haverfordwest, was praised for her efforts for the charity.
Pembrokeshire County Council has said previously policy differs from school to school.
