Passing hero rescues toddler from roof
THIS is the moment a heroic passer-by saved a two-year-old boy who was stuck on a hotel roof 40ft above the ground.
Preston Likely, an artist, scrambled up a drainpipe to reach the toddler, who looked likely to fall at any second.
Preston, 42, said: “I saw the child on the roof tottering about. I just climbed up and grabbed him. He was wriggling about. I really had to squeeze to hold on.”
The boy, known only as Charlie, is thought to have climbed up a ladder left against a wall at the Tree Hotel in Iffley, near Oxford.
His mother went up after him but also got stuck.
A fire crew brought all three down.
A spokesman said: “The brave actions of the member of the public made sure the child was safe.”
