£100 car fuel bill
THE cost of filling the average family car with petrol is more than £100 in some areas of the UK as fuel prices head for new records.
Dumfries is the most expensive town to refuel at 145.90p a litre, says bank Santander.
An average fill-up costs £97.37
Filling a 70-litre tank there would cost £102.13.
By contrast Torquay is the least expensive place, at an average of 135.90p a litre or £95.13 for a full tank.
