A Marilyn Monroe moment for Helen Skelton
BLUE Peter presenter Helen Skelton steals the limelight from Britain’s Games stars... as a gust of wind reveals her red undies to thousands at the Olympic parade.
The Marilyn Monroe moment came as Helen Skelton was on stage outside Buckingham Palace with Olympic Gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy and Paralympic Gold winner Sarah Storey.
As the athletes approached Helen, 29, she told them it was time for them to “enjoy the fact you’ve got so many medals”.
Instead, they found themselves enjoying the good natured laughter as Helen realised her hem had soared and struggled to regain control of her outfit.
She was forced to pat down her dress with one arm while holding a microphone and clipboard under the other. “Oh my word,” she exclaimed.
Fellow presenter Ben Shepherd, 37, announced: “That’s one way to welcome them.”

Helen, composure regained, said to the athletes she would ask them some questions “now me skirt’s down”.
