Sol Campbell: Boycott these Euro 2012 racists
FORMER England captain Sol Campbell has warned football fans to stay away from Euro 2012 because of the threat of racism and violence.
The ex-Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur player condemned European football bosses for allowing the flagship tournament to take place in Poland and Ukraine.
He said it made a mockery of governing body UEFA’s “zero tolerance” of racism.
Campbell, 37, told fans: “Stay at home, watch it on TV. Don’t even risk it because you could end up coming back in a coffin.”
He spoke after the families of England stars Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said they would not be going to watch England’s matches for fear of being victims of racial abuse.
The Foreign Office’s travel advice for the tournament warns: “Travellers of Asian or Afro-Caribbean descent and individuals from religious minorities should take extra care.”

UEFA said its zero tolerance approach to racism is “still valid”.
