You could be Billy's neighbour... but the price tag's a Big Yin
HOUSEHUNTERS are being given the chance to have top comedian Billy Connolly as their next-door neighbour, if they can stretch to the £1.15million asking price.
The refurbished mansion Inverernan House, which boasts three reception rooms, 15 bedrooms and six bathrooms, is up for sale next to the comedian’s Highland home.
Set in a 55-acre estate, with nearby trout fishing, the historic Georgian Strathdon mansion house sits in a secluded setting in woodland next to the River Don.

The property is near Connolly’s Candacraig estate. Parts of Inverernan House date back to the 17th century, and it was refurbished in 1935.
Owner Sylvia Lawson Johnston said she fell in love with the mansion when she first set eyes on it 32 years ago and moved in with her late husband, Andrew, and four children.

At the time they stayed next door to Body Shop founder Anita Roddick and her husband, Gordon, who lived at Candacraig.
The retail millionaire sold her stunning home to Billy Connolly in 1998.
Mrs Johnston described Billy and his wife Pamela as “lovely” neighbours who were a big part of the local community.
She said: “They are very hospitable – very nice.

“We had Gordon and Anita living there before that. I was their interior decorator and Billy hasn’t changed very much.”
