One size doesn’t fit online
CLOTHES worth £500million are returned by online customers who order multiple sizes, a report revealed.
Online shopping comparison website Kelkoo said a lack of standardised sizing was fuelling a “buy before you try” culture.
A study of 1,500 adults found that almost two-thirds ordered multiple sizes of the same item. Half said their clothes size varied between retailers and one in four had problems finding a proper fit.
Kelkoo said many retailers bear the postage cost of returns but predicted the burden could fall on consumers.
Chris Simpson, of Kelkoo, said: “This could be avoided if the issue of a co-ordinated sizing standard was addressed by the industry.”
