700 men in queue to lose moobs
SURGERY to remove “man boobs” ops are now the second most common cosmetic procedure among British men – with more than 700 signing up to have the surgery.
While men’s nose jobs were the most popular – 993 have gone under the knife – “moob” or breast reduction surgery rose by 28 per cent. It is the biggest increase out of procedures for both sexes.
Last year members of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons carried out 38,274 operations, a five per cent increase from 2009.
Women had 34,413 operations, up five per cent.
However, demand among men continued to increase with a seven per cent rise overall from 3,623 last year.
Boob jobs for women remain the most popular procedure, with a 10 per cent rise to 9,418. Facelifts are also wanted by both men and women and rose by 12 per cent.
