Police officers and emergency services workers were deployed on a stretch of the M4, which was brought to a halt after an incident. All lanes were closed on Friday morning on the M4 westbound between J42 and J43.
One lane was later reopened, but Traffic Wales warned drivers to plan accordingly and expect delays. A spokesperson for the organisation said: "M4 between J42 Earlswood and J43 Llandarcy travelling Westbound. Traffic is currently on stop. There are long delays in the area. Allow extra time for your journey."

Delays are currently around three minutes, with average speeds of approximately 15mph. Motorists should continue to allow a little extra time for their journeys while congestion clears.
