The M4 is seeing traffic delays in Wales near Swansea and Port Talbot due to multiple incidents. The A48 Briton Ferry Bridge was closed in both directions following an incident, which South Wales Police attended and told the public to avoid the area. Specialist negotiators were at the scene following reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on the bridge this morning.
Elsewhere, long queues are building on the M4 near Port Talbot due to ongoing emergency repairs. One lane is closed in both directions between J41 (Baglan) and J40 (Taibach) while barriers are repaired, causing queues back to J42 at Swansea East and Britton Ferry.

Delays in Newport
The AA is now reporting long delays on the M4 in both directions in Newport due to a crash near J24 shortly before 3.30pm.
One lane is blocked on the eastbound side, causing delays of 15 minutes and delays of 10 minutes on the other side too.

Congestion reaching Swansea
Traffic monitoring service Inrix said this morning: "One lane closed and slow traffic due to emergency Barrier repairs on M4 in both directions from J41 A48 Pentyla-Baglan Road (Baglan / Pentyla) to J40 A4107 Tanygroes Street (Port Talbot / Taibach).
"Congestion to Before J42 (Swansea East and Briton Ferry) East Bound and After J38 (Margam) West Bound. Lane two (of two) is closed in both directions."
Emergency barrier repairs
One lane is closed in both directions between J41 (Baglan) and J40 (Taibach) while barriers are repaired, causing queues back to J42 at Swansea East and Britton Ferry.
Delays close to 1hr
There are delays of 53 minutes on the M4 Eastbound between J46 A48 (Llangyfelach) and J41 A48 Pentyla-Baglan Road (Baglan / Pentyla).
Police statement in full
South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police was called just after 9:50am this morning, Friday May 29, following a report of concern for the welfare of a woman on a bridge over the A48 in Briton Ferry.
"Specialist negotiators attended the scene, and nearby roads were closed whilst officers spoke with her. The incident was brought to a safe conclusion at 3.00pm."
