Superdrug introduces major change to 75 UK stores in May
The chain has revealed a new in-store service which will be available to customers.

Superdrug has announced a new service which will be available to customers in 75 UK stores from this month. Employees will now be able to give expert guidance with confidence and knowledge following a new eight-week training course.
The store’s new Healthcare Ambassador Accreditation means that customers will be offered professional advice on minor health issues like coughs, sore throats and headaches. Customers will have the option to ask for help with over-the-counter treatments. The chain says it aims to support anyone worrying about minor health issues.

Superdrug’s research found that 66% of customers see health and beauty retailers as playing a growing role in everyday healthcare and 65% of them want more in-store support.
Simon Comins, Superdrug’s chief operating officer, said: “People are increasingly looking for convenient, trusted support with everyday health concerns, and the high street has an important role to play.
“As demand for accessible healthcare support grows, it is important that our teams are equipped to respond safely and confidently.
“This programme builds on the strong foundations already in place across Superdrug stores, giving colleagues even greater confidence to help customers with everyday health needs and ensuring they offer clear, responsible advice at the right moment.”
The research concluded that shoppers are seeking support on sleep, over-the-counter treatments and also help with sore throats, coughs and headaches, reports The Sun.

What else is new at Superdrug?
The health and beauty retailer, founded in 1964, currently has more than 780 shops across the UK and Ireland.
Superdrug announced earlier this year that it planned on expanding its portfolio in 2026 by opening new stores.
On May 7, a new Superdrug opened in Cwmbran, Wales.
These planned openings come as a result of "strong customer demand" in-store, said Superdrug bosses.
The retailer said it will continue to invest particularly in "large-format destination stores and retail park locations".
