Russell Brand can't find a bible passage on Piers Morgan's show
An awkward exchange between Russell Brand and Piers Morgan has gone viral after a long silence during a live interview. Brand, 50, appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss his upcoming trial and promote his new book, How to Become a Christian in 7 Days.
The comedian is due to face trial this autumn on three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault relating to six women between 1999 and 2009. He denies all the charges. During the interview, Morgan asked Brand about bringing a Bible with him to Southwark Crown Court earlier this year.

Brand had taken the religious text into the courtroom in February and was seen reading from it before it was later confiscated by a dock officer.
Morgan asked whether the Bible he had in the studio was the same one he had taken to court. After Brand confirmed it was, Morgan said: “What was your thinking in taking it into court?
“You were seen looking at some passages… what were the relevant passages for you?”
What followed was a lengthy silence lasting around 100 seconds, as Brand flicked through the pages of his Bible.
Morgan watched him and occasionally looked towards the camera. The awkward moment has since sparked a reaction online.

One person wrote on X: “Piers choosing not to interrupt here is the height of situational awareness.”
Another added: “This was literally like something you'd watch on an episode of The Office.”
His trial at Southwark Crown Court is due to begin on October 12.
