Woman made desperate 4-word plea to bully thug – he snapped her neck anyway
Robert Easom subjected his ex-girlfriend to eight years of abuse.

A Rambo-obsessed thug broke his ex-girlfriend's neck as she pleaded "You are killing me" during a savage attack. Trudi Burgess, 56, was subjected to an eight year long ordeal of attacks, verbal abuse and controlling behaviour at the hands of "cowardly" bully, Robert Easom.
Easom, also 56, was found guilty of Section 18 assault at Preston Crown Court on Monday (November 24) after admitting two offences of actual bodily harm and engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour between July 2017 and February this year. Ms Burgess was paralysed from the chest down during the vicious attack at Easom's home in Lancashire in February.

The court heard Ms Burgess met Easom after her husband died and he was working as a landscape gardener for her sister.
She said Easom was a "perfect partner" at first, but then then he launched his cruel abuse, which Ms Burgess documented in disturbing notes on her phone.
Easom pushed her against furniture, shouted at her, headbutted her and drove dangerously to scare her.
About seven months into the relationship, Easom flew into a rage on a trip to York, dragging Ms Burgess around a bathroom and threatening her using a line from the film Rambo: "Don’t push or I’ll give you a war".
In 2019, Eason shouted at Ms Burgess before dragging her upstairs by the head, banging her head against each step.
Another horrific attack saw Easom put a sheet over her head and strangling her, leaving her in fear for her life. A day later, Easom claimed he was just trying to teach her a lesson.
Trapped in a cycle of abuse, Easom undermined Ms Burgess's self-esteem, leaving her confused and broken down.

When Ms Burgess told Easom she was leaving him on February 17, he launched the brutal attack which severed her spinal cord, leaving her paralysed and requiring specialist care.
DC Bethanie Kirk from Lancashire Police said: "Robert Easom is a manipulative and controlling individual with a warped sense of entitlement and repulsive views towards women. He poses a significant risk due to his violent and abusive behaviour.
"I welcome these convictions, which expose his abhorrent conduct for all to see."
She praised Ms Burgess for her incredible bravery in coming forward and trusting Lancashire Police to protect her and bring Easom to justice.
Ms Kirk said: "His cowardly and sustained abuse has had a profound and lasting impact on her life and her loved ones. I hope she can now begin rebuilding her life, free from his control."
Easom is due to be sentenced on February 27.
A GoFundMe page set up by Ms Burgess's son and daughter has to date raised almost £30,000 towards her ongoing care.
