Beloved 80s chocolate bar spotted back on shelves after decades-long absence
The sweet treat initially made a brief appearance in stores before being discontinued - but now it's back.

A beloved chocolate bar that first hit shelves in the 1980s has made a comeback. St Michael’s Take 4 arrived in stores some forty years ago but was reportedly only available for a year or so.
But decades on from it being discontinued, the sweet treat is back, prompting delight from shoppers. In the product description on its website, M&S describes the sweet treat as featuring "layered delicate crispy wafers with a rich cocoa paste filling, smothered in a thick coating of smooth, Fairtrade milk chocolate".

- a nut allergy
- a peanut allergy
- an egg allergy.
The "retro" confectionery is sold in 1980s-style packaging for an added dose of nostalgia.
St Michael was a brand owned and used by M&S between 1927 and 2000. However, while it's no longer a fixture in its stores, Marks and Spencer occasionally revives classic products bearing its name.
Announcing the latest such nod to yesteryear last month, M&S wrote on Instagram: “We’re re-introducing another St Michael sensation, with this simply *cracking* chocolate bar from our archives, in its full retro-inspired glory.
"First sold in the 80s, our Take 4 bar contains four fingers of crispy wafer, enrobed in delicious thick milk chocolate. Simply snap apart, dunk in your cuppa and enjoy!"
One commented: “Oh wow, I used to love these as a kid,” as reported by The Sun.
Another added: “LOVE IT! We’re all in the nostalgia these days of happier times and to see the nostalgic wrapping is a joy!”
A third said: "That looks so good," with another adding simply, "Gorgeous."
Fans also begged for other old favourites to return, with one writing: "please bring back the hazelnut nougat dessert from the 90s, it was a frozen/chilled cake with a nougat base and a cream topping with a chocolate swirl! It was amazing!!!! I miss it so much".
Another said: "This looks delicious! But pls can you also bring back the square/rectangular white chocolate biscuits with the dark chocolate drizzle you used to have in your biscuit selection boxes. I don’t know what they were called but I miss them!"
Marks and Spencers said they couldn't make any promises but would reach out to their food team.
