A man has died after being pulled from the sea at a popular UK seaside resort just days after a woman lost her life in a similar incident. Emergency crews raced to the beach, in Skegness, Lincolnshire, shortly after 6pm following reports the man had been rescued from the water by HM Coastguard.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed the man, who was aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed. It comes only days after a woman in her 60s was pulled from the same waters and later died despite intensive rescue efforts.

On Friday, the RNLI launched a major search after she went missing in the sea.

She was pulled from the water by lifeboat crews and given CPR on the beach but could not be saved.

A Coastguard helicopter was seen responding to the incident along with an air ambulance, East Midlands Ambulance Service, Lincolnshire Police and the RNLI.
