The UK's happiest town has been revealed, and it's a quaint commute town with houses over £200,000 cheaper than London. Rightmove annually reveals the happiest places to live, with the East Anglian market town of Woodbridge clinching the top spot in late 2024.
This Suffolk jewel, one of Eastern England's most sought-after commuter towns, is tucked away next to the breathtaking Suffolk Coast Heaths. The heaths are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty brimming with wildlife and walking paths, making it a paradise for dog owners. This charming location provides easy access to London, boasting its own train station that allows commuters to reach London Liverpool Street station in just an hour-and-a-half.

Based on Rightmove's figures, you'll need just over £444,000 to buy a house here - not exactly a bargain, but it's a far cry from London's average of £680,000.
Given its close proximity to both the capital and the sea, it's no wonder that Woodbridge has earned such a positive reputation.
The town also benefits from strong connections to Ipswich and other popular commuter towns and cities.
Essex's Colchester is just a half-hour drive away, while a short journey north will take you to Southwold, home to one of the UK's top attractions - its pier.
In London, Richmond is considered the happiest place to live, also securing second place nationwide. Richmond was at the top of the list in 2023.
