Vladimir Putin staged massive aerial bomb and military drone strikes on Ukraine overnight despite Trump pressure to halt war.

With early reports suggesting at least four people were killed and 23 injured, the attacks saw widespread damage to residential areas across a number of major cities.

Residents in the capital Kyiv hunkered down in bomb shelters, while the surrounding region also suffered numerous explosions with major damage inflicted on a museum of classic cars.

The country’s second city Kharkiv and the southern port of Odesa were also hit in the huge bombardment which struck multiple regions in the dead of night.

There were power cuts in Cherkasy region and reports that strategic Vasylkiv in Kyiv region had also been attacked.

A major fire was seen at industrial premises in the second city Kharkiv with attacks on the Kholodnogorsk and Novobavarskyi districts.

Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov said: “The enemy launched a UAV strike on the territory of a civilian enterprise in the Novobavarskyi district of the city.

“As a result of the shelling, a large-scale fire occurred on an area of 1,500 square metres [16,146 square feet].

“The production premises were burning.

“At 2:36am the fire was localised, and its elimination is currently ongoing.”

Two people were reported badly wounded in Kharkiv after being hit by debris from an Iranian-style Shahed drone shot down by air defences.

Elsewhere, three residential buildings - including a tower block - were set ablaze in Odesa, and a grain warehouse was also damaged.

“Residential buildings were damaged and four passenger cars were set on fire. There was no information about the dead or injured," said the city's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov.

Later reports said there were three victims.

Two women and two men were also wounded in Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia.

But Ukraine also fired into Russia overnight, with operations at Ryazan Oil Refinery again forced to be suspended after two separate strikes on the facility by drones.

One of the biggest refineries in Russia, it supplies Moscow, as well as fuel for Putin’s war machine.

It also supplies oil for export.

When functioning, it has the capacity to process 17 million metric tons of oil per year.

A source said: “The railway loading equipment has been damaged. There have been no railways loadings, they stopped oil processing.”

The refinery has repeatedly been targeted and hit by Ukrainian forces in the last week.
