M6 traffic: Chaos on major UK motoroway as huge crash causes 13-mile queues
Recovery vehicles were sent to the scene to remove the vehicles involved after a crash on the M6 on Friday.
The M6 northbound was brought to a standstill after a collision near Stoke-on-Trent on Friday.
National Highways reported that there were delays of up to 90 minutes and a 13-mile queue after a crash between J15 Hanchurch Interchange (Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme A500) and J16 Barthomley Interchange (Stoke-on-Trent, Crewe, Nantwich, Chester A500).
Recovery vehicles were sent to the scene to remove the vehicles involved.
National Highways told drivers at the time: "If this impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey. Further information is available from National Highways by visiting our www.trafficengland.com website and travel apps, or via our regional Twitter feed.
"Our 24/7 contact centre team is also available to provide up to the minute information on 0300 123 5000."

Delays have dropped 'significantly'
The delays at J15 are now down to 30 minutes and 5 miles of congestion, National Highways say.
Vehicles cleared and all lanes now open
The vehicles involved in the accident have been cleared and all lanes are now open northbound.
