A soldier was allegedly stabbed up to 12 times with a 10 inch knife in a broad daylight attack in Kent. Local police said officers seized a number of knives but the motive for the alleged attack remains unknown.

The British Army said the victim, who is in his 40s, is fighting for his life after he suffered serious injuries. He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
