The UK is full of stunning beaches but some crop up time and again on lists for Britain’s best.

From Norfolk to the Isles of Scilly, there are some that remain popular among Brits and tourists while others fly under the radar.

They are also located across the country with spots in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England all being heavily featured.

Others that are considered to be among the UK’s top beaches include Scarista Beach in Lewis & Harris, White Park Bay in County Antrim and Formby Beach in Merseyside.

Here are eleven beaches that seem to be on every list of Britain's best bits of seaside.

Whitstable Beach, Kent

This pretty town’s pebble beach is backed by stripy beach huts.

There are plenty of independent shops and cafés to explore and a number of oyster stalls on the beach.

It has been named among the UK’s best beaches by Conde Nast Traveller and the Times.

This beach has been described by Conde Nast Traveller as "wild and free and almost lunar-like" due to the half-moon lagoon.

It is a vast expanse of sand backed by pine woods, sand dunes and salt marshes.

Part of the Holkham estate and nature reserve, it's protected and wonderfully unspoiled.

Rhossili Bay, Gower

Rhossli Bay is relatively untouched, a long curve of white sand enclosed by steep limestone cliffs with little on it other than the remains of the Victorian ship from Norway, the Helvetia.

It is big enough so that it never feels busy, particularly on the northern stretch.

It is also a family favourite due to the expansive sand, rock pools, sand dunes and seaside cafes.
