Victoria Hall went missing after a night out in Felixstowe, Suffolk, before her body was found five days later.
Steve Wright, 66, has been charged with the kidnap and murder of Victoria Hall and the attempted kidnapping of another woman in September 1999, Suffolk Police said.
Suffolk Police said Steve Wright, 66, formerly of London Road, Ipswich, has been charged with the kidnap and murder of 17-year-old Victoria Hall, who was last seen in September 1999.
Victoria was on a night out at the Bandbox nightclub in Felixstowe on September 18 1999 and was last seen after parting way with a friend while walking back to Trimley St Mary in the early hours of the morning on September 19.
Her body was found five days later in a ditch in Creeting Lane, Creeting St Peter, by a dog walker.
On Wednesday, Wright was charged with kidnap and murder in connection with the death, and was also charged with one count of attempted kidnap in relation to a separate incident on September 18 1999 when a 22-year-old woman reported a man following her between 3am and 4am in High Road East, Felixstowe.
Wright is remanded in custody and will next appear at Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on Monday June 3.
