Neighbours in cities: The strangers next door
PEOPLE in Britain’s cities can name only eight neighbours compared with 14 in rural areas, a study shows.
There is also a north-south divide, with Londoners on average on first name terms with only six neighbours compared with nine in Manchester and 11 in Glasgow, says Gumtree.com, which allows people to place adverts for local services.
