BBC 'caught lying again' over resignation of Harvard's Claudine Gay
Broadcaster accused after Claudine Gay quits over discrimination allegations.
The BBC is facing a backlash and has been accused of "lying" over the resignation of Harvard University's president. Claudine Gay has quit following antisemitism and plagiarism allegations after she appeared before Congress to discuss antisemitism on college campuses.
She and two other university presidents were accused of evading the questioning of a Republican congresswoman who conflated calls for a Palestinian uprising with the genocide of Jewish people.
When asked if students calling for such genocide would be disciplined by universities, the presidents were unable to give a “yes” or “no” answer.
Ms Gay said in a later statement: “There are some who have confused a right to free expression with the idea that Harvard will condone calls for violence against Jewish students.

Nothing to see here... Just the BBC completely misrepresenting the facts and openly defending an antisemitic plagiarist.

Sadly, this is what we now expect from the BBC. Woke, left wing, agenda driven, group think.

“Let me be clear: calls for violence or genocide against the Jewish community, or any religious or ethnic group are vile, they have no place at Harvard, and those who threaten our Jewish students will be held to account.”
The BBC today published an article about her resignation, with the headline: “Harvard’s Claudine Gay a casualty of campus culture wars.”
Many accused the broadcaster of lying about the situation. It received a Community Note on X, formerly Twitter, intended to add context to unclear posts, about Gay’s plagiarism allegations.
One X user, addicted2newz, said: “Nothing to see here ... Just the BBC completely misrepresenting the facts and openly defending an antisemitic plagiarist.

“Sadly, this is what we now expect from the BBC. Woke, Left-wing, agenda-driven, groupthink. Thank God for Community Notes.”
Another, @sebastianepayne, “corrected” the headline to: “Harvard's Claudine Gay a casualty of being unable to condemn the genocide of Jews.”
The user @essexpr said: “The BBC has been caught out lying again. Woke madness has infected this organisation and it’s you and me that pay for it.”
The BBC’s post sharing the article has been taken down and the headline amended. The broadcaster replied to the post saying: “This post has been removed because the article’s original headline has been amended.”
