Bank raider who held hostages 'was drunk'
A GUNMAN who held bank staff and customers hostage for three hours is thought to have been drunk.
The suspect sparked a huge police operation when he burst into a branch of Barclays bank in Ashford, Middlesex, on Monday.
He claimed to have planted bombs in the area. It is now thought his gun was fake.
Police believe he may have had a grievance over a transaction.
A man was still being questioned last night.
