We need Catherine Zeta-Jones for Strictly
Len Goodman wants Catherine Zeta-Jones to sign up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing to beat Simon Cowell in the ratings war.
The 40-year-old Hollywood star would prove a ratings winner, but TV insiders say her fee would be at least £300,000 at a time when the BBC is slashing budgets.
Judge Len, 65, said: “It would be great to have a big star like Catherine Zeta-Jones on the show. She’s a dancer and more punters would tune in to watch someone like her.”
Only 11million viewers saw last season’s Strictly final, compared with The X Factor’s 20million on ITV. Len, who admitted he has not yet received his BBC contract for the next series, added: “Simon Cowell’s done a brilliant job with the X Factor, but if we got big stars for the new series we could be up there again.”
