Toy Story 3 is a £68m success Story
Long-awaited movie sequel Toy Story 3 is on course to make £68million on its opening weekend.
The film, the most expensive animation in history, accounted for 67 per cent of advance ticket sales in the US.
Experts predict the £126million picture, which opens in the UK on July 23, could easily make half a billion dollars.
Eleven years after Toy Story 2 came out critics are raving about the latest instalment which again features the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack.
The story, a parody of The Great Escape, sees the toys make a bid for freedom after being dumped in a day care centre run by a wicked teddy bear.
LA Times critic Kenneth Turan said: “It is everything you hoped it would be.
“It understands emotion and is not afraid to get it up there on screen.”
