Lorraine loves fab new figure
TELEVISION presenter Lorraine Kelly has gone from frumpy to fab after dropping a dress size.
The 50-year-old Scot has slimmed from a size 14 to 12 after pounding the streets training for the London Marathon.
And she told Closer magazine: “It’s lovely to go to a shop and buy a size 12. I feel more energetic and confident.
“It’s taken me until 50 to feel really happy in my body – extraordinary when you think about it.
“I’m never going to be thin, it’s not how I’m meant to be, but I feel good the size I am.”
The morning TV presenter said of the Marathon: “I wanted to do something to test me, to see if my old knees could stand up to running 26 miles. I managed it and it was incredible, but after it you have to maintain the fitness, which isn’t quite so easy.”
Mum-of-one Lorraine, who splits her time between her home in Broughty Ferry and London, says she gained weight after moving house.
She revealed: “I’d gone up to a good size 14. I was really busy and wasn’t eating well or doing exercise. I was also travelling a lot and grabbing snack food on the run.”
With help from her husband Steve Smith and their daughter Rosie, 16, Lorraine hopes to maintain her new figure.
She added: “I now plan my meals. I’ve cut down on sweets, too. I’m not banning them, but I have more fruit.”
