Legally blonde: Beautician wins £10,000 scholarship to law school
A BEAUTICIAN who won a High Court battle against a giant property developer is starting law school today after winning a £10,000 scholarship.
Blonde Georgina Blackwell, 24, represented her mother, Sandra, against Bellway Homes in a row over access to their garden.
Georgina, of Colchester, Essex, spotted a clause in legal papers that led to the firm being ordered to pay costs and compensation.
Then BPP Law School, London, offered a scholarship. “It’s a dream come true,” said Georgina, who wants to be a barrister. “I was invited to the premiere of Legally Blonde and it made me laugh because on the character’s first day she turns up in pink with her little dog. I won’t be making that mistake.”
Peter Crisp of BPP Law School said: “We were very impressed and believe that this experience will be a huge benefit.”
