Multi-coloured roses on sale for a dazzling £65-a-dozen
LITTLE Millie Holland is looking forward to a rose-tinted future with these spectacular rainbow flowers.
Seven-year-old Millie, of Lichfield, Staffs, is pictured yesterday holding a bunch of Happy Roses – a spectacular new species on sale for the first time in Britain.
The blooms are created by injecting vibrant coloured plant extracts into the stem.
The extracts work as a dye, and a special process controls how much colour goes to each petal, resulting in the vivid and varied blooms.
Happy Roses were created when Dutch growers River Flowers and FJ Zandbergen & Zn joined forces to try to create the perfect floral gift.
Rose seller InterRose has now brought the blooms to Britain.
They are available at www.interrose.co.uk.
A single Happy Rose costs £24.49, while a dozen are priced £64.87.
You could say there is gold at the end of the rainbow.
