Manhunt after brutal racist attack on train where victim was ‘repeatedly punched’
The victim was verbally abused before being attacked on the train in south London.
Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a shocking racist attack on a train in south London. The appeal relates to an incident which occurred on a train approaching West Dulwich station, when the victim was approached by another man who began racially abusing him.
The man then repeatedly punched his victim before getting off the train at Sydenham Hill station.
Police have now released pictures from CCTV footage which they hope will assist with their investigation.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “The man then repeatedly punched the victim before alighting the train at Sydenham Hill station.
“Officers believe the man in the images may have useful information which could help their investigation.”
Anyone who recognises the man, or has information about the attack which took place on April 19, is being asked to contacted BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 422 of 19 April.
