Harry Potter: Rare copy of The Philosopher's Stone to sell for £20,000
A RARE copy of the first Harry Potter adventure is set to sell for more than £20,000.
Only 500 hardback copies of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone were printed – because publishers Bloomsbury were not sure how popular it would be.
Optician Tim Tucker bought his first edition from a Cambridge shop in 1998 for £10. He has kept it in a bookcase for the last 10 years and is selling it to build up his family’s savings.

Tim, 53, of St Ives, Cambs, said: “My grandfather always told me to look after books.
“It’s a good job I listened to him because it wouldn’t be worth as much if it was in a poorer condition.”
The sale will take place at Bloomsbury Auctions in London on May 13.
