Number of cars on British roads plunge
THE number of cars on Britain’s roads last year fell for the first time since the Second World War.
The figure dropped 0.7 per cent to 31,035,791 due to the economic crisis, the scrappage schemes and tougher laws on polluting cars, said the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
