100 lies that parents tell
PARENTS lie to their children 100 times a year – despite telling them that fibbing is wrong.
And one in three has lied to teachers to get children out of school for a day, a poll shows.
Parents also encouraged their children to tell white lies about why they did not do homework or were late for school. And two-thirds admitted using children as an excuse to get out of going to a party or for being late.
The survey of more than 1,000 parents for Sheilas’ Wheels home insurance found 90 per cent tell their children off for lying – but do not hold themselves up to the same high standards.
