M6 REOPENS after horror crash involving car and motorcycle
TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill on the M6 on Sunday after a collision involving a car and a motorcycle.
The M6 in Lancashire was closed southbound between J33 for Garstang and J32 for the M55 and Blackpool at around 4.30pm on Sunday, May 15.
Traffic was stopped after the collision involving a car and a motorcycle.
An Air Ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, according to National Highways.
The northbound carriageway was blocked while the air ambulance attended.
Long delays were reported following the crash.
The road was reopened at around 5pm, although two out of three lanes remained closed while emergency services remained at the scene.
All lanes have since been opened.
Severe delays remain in the area, with drivers told congestion would add an hour and a half onto journey times.
There was approximately seven and a half miles of congestion at 6pm, according to National Highways.
Traffic monitoring service INRIX said the road had cleared by 7pm.
