Horror knife attack in Tunbridge Wells sees police swarm road - at least one injured
A MAN has been rushed to hospital following a horror stabbing in Tunbridge Wells town centre in Kent, with police swarming the surrounding area.
Emergency services were called at 1.22pm on Saturday to reports of a man with stab wounds on Upper Grosvenor Road. He was rushed to a hospital in London with "injuries consistent of stab wounds", according to Kent Police. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made so far in relation to the incident.
A police cordon remains in place along Upper Grosvenor Road, around the Meadow Road car park and towards Goods Station Road.
An air ambulance reportedly landed on a grass verge opposite Church Road, according to Kent Online.
Officers are also still at the scene of the incident in the leafy suburb.
Police are continuing with their enquiries.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Kent Police was called to a report of an assault in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells, at 1.22pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
"Officers are at the scene and one man has been taken to a London hospital with injuries consistent of stab wounds.
"His condition is not being treated as life-threatening. No arrests have yet been made and enquiries are ongoing".
A witness described the scene following the incident.

He told Kent Online: "I saw a man running off towards the Goods Station Road/Victoria Road area.
"A few seconds later there were a couple of younger men talking about their phone.
"One lifted his shirt up and there was a significant amount of blood, though whether he had fallen or been stabbed wasn't clear.
"They then walked down the alleyway between the rear of the post office and the multi-storey car park."

A local shop owner also said: "The street has been closed for about 30 to 45 minutes.
"There is two police cars for this side and four or five police officers are outside."
