British victim found in Haiti
A BODY pulled from the rubble of the headquarters of the UN in Haiti has been identified as that of Briton Ann Barnes.
Ms Barnes, 59, from Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, is the second Briton named to have died in the earthquake.
Fellow UN worker Fred Wooldridge, 41, from Kent, was confirmed dead last week. Yesterday, a UN statement said: “It is with heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of our friend and colleague, Ann Barnes.”
Her partner, Bruno, had clawed through the rubble trying to find her.
