Armed police stand-off as house locked down - officers rush to scene as helicopter circles
ARMED police have been involved in a stand-off at a house in Coventry.
Coventry: Police attend an incident at a house in Tanyard Close
The incident happened in Tanyard Close in Tile Hill, Coventry. One eyewitness has claimed that armed officers are in attendance. They spoke to Coventry Live and said: "There’s an armed police stand-off in Tanyard Farm ongoing at the moment."
There have also been reports of a West Midlands Police helicopter circling the skies over Tile Hill.
One local person spoke to Coventry Live and said: "Police helicopter has been circling over tile hill for over an hour.
"It’s still doing low circuits same area."
The stand-off is happening at Tanyard Farm and on the website associated with this establishment it is described as follows: "Tanyard Farm is a sheltered housing scheme consisting of flats and bungalows for 55 years and over."
Video footage has been sent to CoventryLive and showed two police cars blocking off the stretch of road beside Tanyard Close in Tile Hill.
One of the police cars can be seen parked horizontally and another at an angle.
One police car has its blue lights flashing.
