Jail’s ‘vegan’ boots for animal rights terrorist
ANIMAL rights extremist Natasha Avery – called an urban terrorist by a judge – has been given taxpayer-funded non-leather boots to work on a prison farm.
She also gets ethical “make-up, body care and hygiene products”, enabling her to live a “complete vegan lifestyle” in jail.
Avery, 40, was locked up after admitting a campaign of intimidation and hate against thousands of families.
She and husband Greg – the masterminds behind Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty – were jailed for nine years last January for blackmail.
Their gang targeted workers at medical test group Huntingdon Life Sciences branding them paedophiles and sending hoax bombs and daubing victims’ cars with paint stripper and graffiti.
But in a letter to a vegan website she heaps praise on Send jail in Surrey.
Vegans refuse to eat or wear products involving animals.
The Prison Service said: “We cover vegan, vegetarian and other diets. If prisoners don’t behave, privileges are withdrawn.” But a prison insider said: “She’s living the good life as happy as Larry on the prison farm growing organic veg in her plastic boots.”
The TaxPayers’ Alliance said: “People they hurt will be incredibly angry they’re pampered and pandered to.”
