Warning to Remainers: Lindsay Hoyle won't bend the rules as Bercow did, reveals Iain Dale
IAIN DALE issued a warning to Remainers as he predicted the new Speaker of the House of Commons would not “bend the rules” to help disrupt Brexit.
Iain Dale says Hoyle will be ‘traditional’ unlike Bercow
Political commentator Iain Dale argued John Bercow's successor Lindsay Hoyle would not manipulate the rules in favour of Remainers. Mr Dale told Express.co.uk's Video News Editor Sam Stevenson Mr Hoyle is determined to be a traditional Speaker. He said Mr Hoyle admitted would not bend the rules as John Bercow did during his time in the House of Commons.
Mr Dale said: “I think Lindsay Hoyle will be a much more traditional Speaker.
“I don’t think he will bend the rules or create new ones in the way that John Bercow did.
“I interviewed Mr Hoyle recently and he more or less said that.
“So I think any Remain MPs thinking he will ride to their rescue in the next Parliament are going to be sadly disappointed.”

John Bercow has caused multiple controversies during his time as the House Speaker, with Brexiteers routinely complaining he was a Remainer and failed to behave impartially.
After stepping down from the role Mr Bercow addressed theses complaints and voiced his opinions on Brexit.
In one of his first big interviews since stepping down, he risked causing an uproar among Brexiteers by saying they “bear some share of the blame for the delay”.
He claimed pro-Brexit MPs did not have a collective approach on how to deliver the results of the European referendum.

Mr Bercow told the Observer: “I had assumed that the architects of, and proselytisers for, Brexit would have a clear idea of what they wanted.
“I was surprised there wasn’t greater clarity.
“I would say that Brexiteers bear some share of the blame for the delay because they did not have an agreed approach to delivery.”

In another interview, Mr Bercow also insisted that Brexit was a mistake as it was better to Remain in the EU.
He said: “I don’t think it helps the UK.
“Brexit is the biggest mistake of this country after the war.
“I respect the prime minister, Boris Johnson, but Brexit doesn’t help us. It’s better to be part of the EU power bloc.”
