The Sentinel R1 jet declared an emergency after a rapid decent from 41,000ft down to 9000ft over the North Sea. Civ Mil Air tweeted: "Royal Air Force Sentinel R1 ZJ694 - 40,000ft over the North Sea on an emergency squawk."
