One Show suspends comedian
COMIC Hardeep Singh Kohli has been suspended from BBC TV’s The One Show after “overstepping the mark” with a female researcher.
Mr Kohli, 39, was stripped of his role as roving reporter for six months after the woman complained.
The comedian said yesterday: “Nobody has accused me of sexual harassment. But I recognise I overstepped the mark and have apologised unreservedly.”
The BBC said the decision to take time away from the programme was “reached mutually”.
Father-of-two Mr Kohli’s ban applies only to The One Show.
In February, Margaret Thatcher’s daughter Carol was fired from the programme after allegedly referring to a black tennis player as a “golliwog” off air.
