Kilburn fire: Man killed in London tower block blaze - 60 firefighters at scene
A MAN has died in a fire which ravaged through a block of flats in north London.
Around 60 firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze on the third floor of a high-rise in Kilburn but could the unidentified man could not be saved. A total of eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters raced to tackle the fire in a tower block on Mapesbury Road in Kilburn, north London. A third floor flat was gutted by the fire which was brought under control after more than an hour-and-a-half.

The cause of the blaze is still unknown and fire investigators are searching for how the fire started.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a flat in Mapesbury Road in Kilburn.
"A flat on the third floor was damaged by fire. Firefighters rescued one man from the flat but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The Brigade was called at 1354 and the fire was under control at 1530. Fire crews from West Hampstead, Willesden, North Kensington and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
