Funeral services set to go on Net
MOURNERS will soon be able to be part of funeral services, without leaving their homes.
In what is claimed to be a Scottish first, friends and family living around the world will watch funeral services online.
And mourners will even be able to keep a copy of the service on CD or DVD.
Co-operative Funeralcare is offering the new internet service at its Craigton Crematorium in Glasgow.
It means a services can be viewed through the company’s website either live or up to seven days after the event.
Every service will be protected by a password so only immediate family will be able to decide who will view the broadcast.
The Co-op’s Craigton crematorium is the only one in Scotland to use the service although it operates in a number of cities in England.
Families who want to use the service will have to pay £60 and a further £25 for a DVD to keep.
